Just wanted to throw a few tips out there for you guys that don't promo much. That results is where your wrestler gets noticed, to be successful it is almost essential to promo. It not only gets you noticed to other members of the fed, it becomes easier to become involved in storylines.
If you actively participate, your chances of climbing the ranks and gaining title shots becomes easier. It also gives you the opportunity to develop your gimmick, whether you want to be a heel or face and so on.
Type your promo in Word
If you don't have Microsoft Word, use something with spelling and grammar checks. This saves time for editing results and getting them finished, which leads to a more effecient schedule. Plus tons of mistakes doesn't make you look very intelligent. Also, make sure to write it in the format of VWI results. This also cuts down on editing time.
Have a purpose
Actually think about your promo before writing it. Get at least a general idea where you want to go with it and what you want to get across. You could do a backstage interview with a staff member, or just have your character make comments alone. Either way, use the opportunity to develop your character and/or farther the storyline you're involved in. If you're not involved in one, it's a good way to get one going. You could also just write a promo with the intention of comedy.
Progression is a good thing
Try to avoid letting your weekly promos end up being the same thing with different words (If you've seen Chaos Kid's promos, you know what I'm talking about). For those who don't, try not to basically say "I'm the best and everyone sucks" each and every week, while throwing your opponents name in there somewhere. They usually come off boring and with no substance or point. Change and try to be original.
Proof-read
Make sure to read over before sending in your promo. This allows you to spot words you may have left out and other typos such as typing the wrong name possibly. Again, make sure to check over spelling and any grammar mistakes.
If I think of anymore, I'll add them to this thread. Feel free to contribute.
